As you can see the schedule has different sections for the time of day e.g. Early, morning, afternoon, evening and late. This is suitable for the target audience has some could be busy with work etc. So by running the radio all day can mean they can put it on whenever they're free. This can boost listening figures as its always on for audience to listen to. Radio 4 has all types of programmes during the day, the shows are mostly for an older audience and educated people. This is because there are mostly news channels that would link to the older audience.
